Adam Stacey plays out of the Hurricane Room Snooker Club in King’s Cross

PROMISING potter Adam Stacey is aiming for the big time at the table as he chases his dream of a glittering career in the professional world of snooker.

The 16-year-old, who plays out of the Hurricane Room Snooker Club in King’s Cross, is currently plying his trade in the English Association of Snooker and Billiards (EASB) Junior Tour and the Cuestars Tour.

He is being tipped to start rapidly climbing the pro ranks “in a few seasons’ time”. In his first season on the Cuestars Tour, Adam, who has a highest competitive break of 79, showed off his ability on the green baize as he reached the semi-finals of the Gold U21 Cup. He has also won countless accolades with his club, Gone-2-Pot, under the guidance of coach John Woods.

But Adam’s next challenge – the biggest so far – is his plan to go to the World Snooker Q-School to hone the skills he’ll need to excel as a professional.

“I’m very proud of him,” said his dad Steve. “He’s doing well in the Hurricane Room and on the Cuestars tour. But he will still have to make it through Q-School which will be tough.

“I’m sure he’ll do great. He is aiming to become a pro in a few seasons’ time.”

And Steve added: “He has played for England before too. He did well so I’m looking forward to watching his progress. Don’t forget that he is still only 16.”
