Arsenal are preparing for Manchester City

THE first international break of the season is in full swing, and for Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall that just means more time to prepare his side for their mammoth home match against Manchester City.

The Swede is predicting fireworks when the two sides meet in the Women’s Super League at Meadow Park on Sunday, November 5.

“It’s going to be a totally different game,” said Eidevall. “We have been playing against very defensive opponents and now we’re gonna play against City.

“I think they’ve been the strongest team in the league so far. It’s a great challenge. I love playing against City because it’s usually a very exciting game and it’s going to be tight. It’s going to be even, and it’s going to be decided with small margins.”

The Gunners will go into that game in confident mood after winning 2-1 at Bristol City on Sunday, thanks to Katie McCabe’s deadly double.

The two goals bring McCabe’s tally up to three, making the Ireland captain Arsenal’s top scorer so far. Eidevall said: “Katie has definitely proven her worth to the team in all of our opening games and it’s been good to see.”
