ELECTION candidates are having Covid tests today (Sunday) after the leader of the council fell ill and tested positive.

Just 48 hours after the count at the Somers Town Community Sports Centre, Labour’s Georgia Gould has been struck down with the coronavirus.

All candidates who were in close proximity to her during the campaign, count and celebrations have now been advised to also take a test. She was also among councillors officially signing in at the Town Hall yesterday (Saturday).

Pat Callaghan remains the deputy leader of the council after holding her seat in Camden Town this week.
