North West Football Academy beat FC Marylebone 2-0 in the Under-11s League Cup final with goals from Hunter Rohman and Nile Tuitt

THERE was no shortage of drama on Saturday when young footballers from across the capital took to the pitches for the final home fixtures of the season in the Regent’s Park Youth League.

Blake Lloyd played in two age groups for St John’s Wood, lifting silverware with the club’s Under-9s and Under-10s sides

The spotlight shone brightest on St John’s Wood FC with the club picking up a mound of medals and trophies across the age groups.

Regent’s Park Girls Under-14s lost out to Brent Schools in the League Cup final

Goals from Blake Lloyd, Leo Turner and captain Owen Lewis guided the club to a 3-2 victory in the Under-9s League Cup final. Rugby Portobello Trust FC played their part in what was a thrilling contest, with Zack Tokarski and Tate Barnett both finding the back of the net.

St John’s Wood Under-7s beat Stokey United in the final after a sudden death penalty shootout

Blake then played up an age group when he joined St John’s Wood’s Under-10s in their final, where supporters of the club were left celebrating yet again. This time the goal hero was Sebbie Le Beron, who struck twice as they beat United Dragons 2-0. The winning scoreline would have been greater if it hadn’t been for Dragons’ goalkeeper Charles Lecornet, who made a string of inspired saves.

St John’s Wood’s Under-7s side were also victorious as they won a special knockout tournament, culminating in a pulsating finale in which they beat North West Football Academy in the semi-finals and Stokey United in the final – both via sudden death penalty shootouts.

What seemed like an endless Saturday of silverware success for St John’s Wood continued with their Under-10s girls’ squad beating Highgate Wood 3-2 in their final, while the boys Under-12s won their final against Muswell Hill 1-0.

North West Football Academy were among the other clubs who also had good cause to celebrate after goals from Hunter Rohman and Nile Tuitt sealed a 2-0 victory over FC Marylebone in the Under-11s League Cup final.

The girls’ Under-14s League Cup final also produced plenty of thrills and skills, with Brent Schools beating Regent’s Park 3-1.
