DEFENDING champions Kevin Howard and Rory Cooper will be looking to make it four in a row after booking their now regular spot in the Chalk Farm Pool League’s doubles final.

The PJ O’Connors pairing survived a scare on Monday night when they scraped past James Mason and Dean Morgan from Peckwater TA 3-2 at the Hurricane Room in King’s Cross.

They will now take on familiar faces across the table in the final after teammates John McDonagh and Ian Ali also made the showpiece showdown, which is due to be played later this summer.

McDonagh and Ali will be confident that they can upset the odds following their resounding 3-1 win over King’s Cross Hurricanes duo Nick Phillips and Peter Berrie in their semi-final.

League chairman Shaun Pollard said: “It’s rare to get four players from the same club in the final.

“It will certainly make for an unpredictable showpiece – you couldn’t get four players who know each other’s strengths and weaknesses any better.”
