BOASTING yet another attendance that the majority of Premier League clubs would be proud of, 60,050 fans packed into the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to see Arsenal edge out north London rivals Tottenham.

The crowd was just shy of the record 60,160 that saw Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-1 in their previous home match. But the raucous cheers emanating from the stands were just as electrifying as Alessia Russo’s second-half strike earned Arsenal a well-deserved 1-0 win.

The victory saw the Gunners keep the pressure on at the top of the WSL table, leaving them just three points behind leaders Chelsea and Manchester City.

Reflecting on back-to-back sell-outs at the Emirates, Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall said: “They [the fans] never disappoint. I think we’re creating an environment here where people want to belong, and they’re a massive part of doing that, and the team is a massive part of doing that.

‘The club is another part so that’s just beautiful to see and be a little part of. Yeah, let’s keep doing that.

“We have one more game at the Emirates left and there is a lot of time, that game is in April. Buy tickets. I think that’s going to sell out.”
