IT seems daytime parties are the new thing and pop party experts Club de Fromage are the latest to jump on the trend with a new before-sunset event for over-30s at Scala on March 23. Their thinking? Their original followers may be a little older these days and are over late nights. They promise the usual Fromage stage show antics, balloons, retro visuals, dance-offs, limbo, hula and more – with a respectable 3pm start – remember your ID!

Camden Council spare a thought for the venues of Parkway, who fear plans for a new bus lane are going to hamper their ability to facilitate musicians / receive stock etc – support our live venues!

• Jah Wobble discusses his autobiography Memoirs of a Geezer with Ted Kessler at The Social on March 22.

Kurt Cobain’s “favourite songwriters in the world” The Vaselines play The Lexington on March 23. If you’re not familiar with the Scottish band, which reformed in 2008, grunge fans in particular may still have heard Nirvana’s covers of their classics Molly’s Lips, Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam and Son Of A Gun.

• Another throwback to times past, original 80s girl group Bananarama – now a two-piece consisting of Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward – have sold out so many tickets for their London Palladium parties that they have had to add an extra date (April 3-4 and 6) – expect the old hits and some new tracks.

Connecting the dots between present day New York and the discos of 1970s Tehran and taking in rare sounds from Asia, Latin America, Africa and beyond, Disco Tehran is an eclectic experience. Marking Nowrouz 2024, and joined by AMMAR 808, MIRZA and LUMA (UK), feel the beat at Jazz Café on March 29.
