BLACK Flag and Rollins Band frontman Henry Rollins holds court for two nights as part of his Good To See You spoken-word world tour at Dingwalls on Aug 5-6. Actor, author, musician, DJ, spoken word poet, punk rock icon, Rollins has plenty to talk about – expect to be entertained.

Carrying on the ever-present 90s nostalgia, Liam Gallagher continues to make capital from it, this time playing his only UK indoor gig this summer at Koko on Aug 9. The set marks the release of Liam’s upcoming live album Knebworth 22, commemorating his celebrated set at the park last year, which unsurprisingly featured 12 Oasis songs out of the 22-song set list.

• Another 90s icon Bernard Butler (Suede and McAlmont and Butler) takes on a two-night residency with Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and James Grant (solo and Love and Money) at Green Note on July 31-Aug 1 as they perform a selection of each other’s songs – an enchanting collab as each brings a new dimension to previously established pieces.

See Argentine trap artist Ysy A, who has attracted more than 1.55 million subscribers on YouTube and over 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, play the intimate setting of Jazz Café on Aug 2.

• Experience the unmistakable fresh jazz vocals of Lady Blackbird, a true class act who released an intense interpretation of Nina Simone’s powerful human rights anthem Blackbird in 2020, at Koko on July 29 – support from Meron T.

The next Rock ‘n Roll Book Club at The Dublin Castle welcomes author Laurence Hedges to discuss his book Siouxsie and the Banshees – The Early Years. He speaks to Tony Bugbear, followed by a Q&A, book shop, cahoots DJ set and appearance from Banshees tribute Painted Bird.

• South Aussie sisters Germein introduce their self-produced and recorded single Good For A Girl to The Camden Club on Aug 3 with support from London singer-songwriter Martha.

Irish six-piece The Whistlin’ Donkeys bring their blend of Irish folk and celtic rock to Electric Ballroom on July 29.

• Carrying on the Celtic influences, The Weaving AKA The Méabh Begley Trio ft Méabh Begley on button accordion, Owen Spafford on fiddle and Cáit Ní Riain on piano, blend the musical traditions of their home regions of Tipperary and Yorkshire with the influences of the Gaeltach of West Kerry where they met, to create fierce dance music. See them at Green Note on Aug 2.

Fourteen-time Grammy award-winning jazz musician Herbie Hancock plays two exclusive UK shows at Barbican on July 28-29.

• The Underworld celebrates the life and music of drummer and Electric Ballroom DJ Belle Star, who sadly died in April, with BelleFest on July 29. The evening will be dedicated to celebrating Belle’s life and love of music, glamour and all things that glitter, with performances from bands and musicians Belle worked with including Glitter Kick, The Nosferatu & friends, Killing Miranda and David / Rachel Stamp + DJ sets – profits to The Music Venue Trust.
