High-tech hall hopes for school

A CAMPAIGN to upgrade a listed school hall and turn it into a high-tech community performance space will be launched next week.
Acland Burghley school, in Tufnell Park, are hoping to raise around £1.2million to fit out their hexagonal-shaped Modernist hall that dates from the 1960s.
Plans include making it available for community use, as well as offering students a state-of-the-art performance base.
To launch the project, the school are hosting an open evening event on Thursday, July 8, starting at 5.45pm.
The evening features a concert by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and talks by Historic England architecture expert Geraint Franklin.
