TABLE-toppers King’s Cross Hurricanes will be looking to keep themselves in the frame for the title when Camden and Islington’s premier pool competition resumes on Monday night.

Alp Sezer’s squad start 2023 just three points ahead of newcomers Hurricane Potters in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League. The pace-setters face a daunting restart to the season, however, as they travel to Holloway to take on The Crown, who are third.

Hurricane Potters also face a tough away day but will be confident of pocketing the points when they take on a King’s Cross Gunners team that is currently mid-table.

Meanwhile in Division Two, The Crown Jewels and Cousins Vikings remain neck-and-neck with 58 points each after seven games. The Crown Jewels face arguably the hardest restart as they take on fourth-placed Cousins Patriots away, while rivals Cousins Vikings travel to Peel Has Beens.

“The standard we have seen at the table so far this season has been excellent,” said league chairman Shaun Pollard. “The players have enjoyed a well-earned break over Christmas, and now, fully rested, I think they are only going to get better and better. It’s safe to say that 2023 promises to be a pulsating year for pool.”
