ATHLETES put their stamina to the ultimate test recently when they took part in the 23rd Hampstead Heath Duathlon.

Two teams made up of 10 members from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club’s masters squad took up the challenge. And what a challenge it was as competitors tackled an approximate 950m swim in the Lido, the men’s, ladies’ and mixed ponds – with a 4.5k run between each swim.

Ending on the Parliament Hill running track, there were age group wins for Paul Pester (V50) and Eugene Belin (V60), while Nico Carniato not only won his age group (V40) but was also the second male overall.

One of the CSCSC teams, comprising of Pester, Carniato, Giovanni Carriere, Alistair Drake and Joseph Pak, also did extremely well as they finished second overall.
