A BRIEF shower couldn’t dampen the spirits on Sunday as Parliament Hill Bowls Club stepped out onto their green on Hampstead Heath to take on Finsbury Park.

After a quick break in play because of the inclement weather, the teams returned to complete their gripping friendly match that ended with the home side winning by 24 shots – the final score being Parliament Hill 65 points, Finsbury Park 41 points.

“It was a great game, and one we always look forward to playing,” said Parliament Hill’s club secretary Richard Caylor.

“We’re always looking to welcome new members – the club caters for adults and youngsters aged 14 and over. You can find us just next to the tennis courts.”
