MEET our competition winner Kate Phillips, who won the chance to see some of her snooker heroes in action for the very first time after ­pocketing a pair of tickets to the Masters.

She said she “loved her big day out at Alexandra Palace” where she got to see Ronnie O’Sullivan thrash Marco “Cue-Man” Fu 6-0, and Barry Hawkins lose 6-4 against surprise tournament ­runner-up Kyren Wilson, who went on to lose against Mark Allen in a thrilling final.

“I want to say many thanks to the Camden New Journal and World Snooker for the chance to attend my first ever snooker tournament,” said Kate.

“It was the very best introduction possible with ‘The Rocket’ Ronnie O’Sullivan in such mean form that poor old Marco Fu barely got to the table. Then, in the evening, we were treated to a closely fought battle as Kyren Wilson overcame Barry Hawkins.

“All in all, a great day out.”
