ST PANCRAS ABC stalwart Sherifdeen Lawal will go into this weekend’s Elite Boxing Championships in confident mood after continuing to reign in the ring on Sunday.

Weighing in at 72kg, the 28-year-old out-pointed Peacock ABC’s Marius Potop over three three-minute rounds in east London, earning a 4-1 majority decision from the five judges.

The Saints also landed success on Saturday when Tommy Silver, who was boxing at 63kg, gained a unanimous victory over Connor Leach from Eastern Boxing Club.

Praising the 15-year-old following the 5-0 win, St Pancras head coach CJ Hussein said: “Tommy was boxing a much taller kid but size didn’t matter. He got under his opponent’s nose and landed a series of clean shots, including some great body shots. It was a really impressive performance.”
