Robert Wells: Regent’s Park

THE Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition proves they are not tired of London, nor of life. There are numerous familiar London scenes depicted and many show Londoners enjoying themselves in their various leisure pursuits – sunning themselves among the ducks in Regent’s Park, strolling along the Thames at Richmond or on the Southbank, digging allotments or just having a pint in the local pub.

We see ourselves at work as well as play, with shoemakers at their workbench in Lobbs, or the crane drivers towering over black cab drivers and City works scurrying.

The Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of skill, concept and draughtsmanship in painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. This year’s Annual Exhibition is the Society’s 300th show.  With more than 550 works in all media in the exhibition, there really is something for everyone – and, with prices starting at just £125, to suit every pocket.
