BETH Mead’s upward trajectory reached fever pitch on Sunday when she scored her first Women’s Super League goals in more than a year.

The fit-again forward (above) has enjoyed plenty of landmark moments since bouncing back from a serious knee injury, including returning to the Arsenal starting line-up and being named in the England squad for the first time since November 2022.

And at the weekend she added another important puzzle piece to her recovery by scoring twice against London rivals West Ham United at Meadow Park.

Frida Maanum opened the scoring against the Hammers as Arsenal romped to a 3-0 victory to seal their eighth win on the spin. The result leaves the Gunners second in the WSL table, three points behind Chelsea, who sealed an entertaining 5-2 victory over Leicester City at Kingsmeadow.

The top two are due to go head-to-head at the Emirates Stadium after the international break. Tickets for the game, which kicks off at 12.30pm on Sunday, December 10, are still available. Visit Arsenal.com and follow the links for details and to book.
