Any young athletes looking to better their times – or who simply want to enjoy racing around Westminster once more – won’t have long to wait before getting in another lap.

Camden’s team manager Ben Dorsett, from Camden Council’s Sport and Physical Activity Service, said: “The good news is that the London Mini Marathon is returning to its more traditional setting of April next year, so we’ll be back here in a flash. I want to thank all the young people who turned out to represent their borough, they did a tremendous job and made us all very proud.”

Friends’ delight at smashing top time

BESTIES Louise Looney and Emma Campbell were all smiles after the miles on Sunday having completed the TCS London Marathon in under five hours. Running to raise money for Brain Research UK, the duo conquered the world-famous 26.2-mile course in four hours, 57.06 minutes – smashing last year’s effort by some 26 minutes. “We are absolutely delighted,” said Louise, a senior sister who works in A&E at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. “We ran so well on the day and couldn’t stop smiling. It’s been an absolute pleasure to raise money for Brain Research UK again, even though we are now walking like tin men.” To support the cause, visit https://tcslondon marathon.enthuse.com and search for “Emma & Louise”.
