Camden Elite under-11s new

THE “tenacious desire” shown by Camden Elite’s talented young players has sparked a scintillating turnaround on the football pitches in Bloomsbury.

The Under-11s debutants (above) have bounced back from a difficult start in the Camden Youth League, which is held at Coram’s Fields every Saturday.

And while results and league tables are not recorded in that age group, Elite’s spirited transformation hasn’t gone unnoticed by their manager.

“We were a new team at the start of the season and it showed,” said Nelson Smith. “We lost our first three games with an aggregate of 28-3, as in we conceded 28 goals while only scoring three.

“Subsequently, the players have shown a real tenacious desire to improve, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

“We have now won six of our last seven games, and scored 30 goals in our last three matches. All of the players have been outstanding.”
