THE double jabs were followed by jubilation on Sunday as two young boxers from St Pancras ABC landed silverware.

Tommy Silver and Jermaine Dhliwayo both showcased their skills to maximum effect at the Cricklewood Boxing Club open show, which was held in Burnt Oak.

Competing at 61kg, Silver was made to work hard for his success as he earned a split-decision victory over home boxer Lee Corcoran.

Dhliwayo, meanwhile, “always looked in control” as he gained a unanimous win against Anthony Kruger from Minster Golden Gloves at 63kg.

“Tommy’s bout proved a real scrap and he really had to grind out the win,” said Saints’ head coach CJ Hussein. “Both boxers fought well, and it could have gone either way. I think Tommy deserved the victory.”

CJ added: “Jermaine ticked every box. He was smart, stayed on the outside of his opponent and didn’t get drawn in. He boxed the perfect fight.”
