Ennis Langdon get ready at Glastonbury on Sunday

ARE you ready… are you ready for work?

Ennis Langdon was on Monday morning – but he could have been forgiven for arriving at the office at the Royal Free Hospital a touch bleary-eyed.

The finance admin worker had hours earlier been on stage at Glastonbury singing with Sir Elton John as the Your Song hitmaker played a triumphant festival-closing performance.

Mr Langdon is part of the London Community Gospel Choir in his spare time. It was asked to help with renditions of Sad Songs and Are You Ready For Love? during a set seen by a record audience. To beat the famous rush to leave the farm, the choir got on a coach as soon as their bit was over and were on the road while Sir Elton was still singing Rocketman late into the evening. They arrived home after 2am.

“The experience will stay with me for the rest of my life,” said Mr Langdon. “It did feel a bit surreal to be back at my desk on Monday morning but it was lovely to hear from staff how much they’d enjoyed the concert. There were certainly a few shocked faces when I told people what I’d been up to at the weekend.”
