WHO stole the doctor’s suitcase?

A valuable case of luggage was taken from outside Salim Haidrani’s home in North Gower Street on September 26. He said he had just popped his other bags inside his home after returning by taxi with his family from holiday.

Dr Haidrani has been unable to secure any CCTV footage from businesses in the street.

He said: “I would have thought the police would have done something. At least they could have looked at the CCTV. The suitcase itself was not valuable, but the contents were to my daughter.”

Dr Haidrani said he felt responsible as he had left the luggage unattended.

The Metropolitan Police has since 2018 stopped investigating many lower level crimes because of spending cuts.

A spokesperson said: “In the absence of any CCTV, witnesses or other investigative opportunities, no further action has been taken.”
