The party on Parliament Hill

AN annual DJ party on the Parliament Hill Bandstand saw thousands of revellers enjoy the summertime beats.

The dance festival-style fun on Friday evening was laid on by the Dig It Sound System, founded more than 20 years ago by the New Journal’s Dan Carrier.

And while many revellers could probably still feel the music pounding through their heads the following morning, one of them just could not shake of what – or who, at least – they had seen.

In the hope of reaching out to a woman he had danced with, a mystery man known only as “David” went as far posting a message in the Rush Hour Crush section of the Metro commuter train newspaper paper on Tuesday.

“To the beautiful lady I’ve seen on the Northern line and then again just by a chance encounter we danced briefly at the Parliament Hill bandstands,” the note said.

“You looked amazing in that blue flowered dress and those signature glasses at the Dig It Sound System music event. Wish we could have danced for longer. I’d love to bump into you again.”

While we must not get too ahead of ourselves or think we are in a Richard Curtis movie, there’s a DJ available for weddings.
