THERE were a series of perfect performances in the pool over the weekend as members of Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club successfully “executed their race plans” to be crowned National Arena Swimming League B Final champions.

A closely fought competition produced plenty of thrills and spills, with the lead changing hands several times between Camden Swiss Cottage and closest placed rivals Plymouth Leander throughout the 51-event showpiece, which was held at the Cardiff International Pool.

In the end, it was the north London-based club that topped the winners’ podium with 355 points, finishing nine clear of runners-up Plymouth. Defending B Final champion Basildon Phoenix took third.

Camden Swiss Cottage claimed the relay challenge for the best aggregate time from all the relay events on their way to capturing glory – an impressive feat that proved crucial to their success.

Praising his victorious squad, head coach Adam Taylor said: “It was about trusting the work completed in training, focusing on the details, and executing race plans. We did that really well, and we enjoyed ourselves in the process. Everyone stepped up and had great competition across all the age groups.”
