The fountain needs the water it was promised

• HARD to believe, but after years of work and millions of pounds spent, an application has been made to Camden NOT to provide water to the replaced water fountain at Princes Circus, Shaftesbury Avenue.

Surely it can’t be beyond the wit of man to provide water to a water fountain? The applicants The Heritage Practice say that “genuine attempts have been made to provide a full connection to the water main and although this has been achieved in part, the final connection has not proved possible”.

This is architect-speak for: “It’s a bit difficult and anyway there are ’elf & safety issues, so can we be excused?”

Water was part of the original permission to re-site the fountain, therefore the applicants should provide it!
