AN empty pub in Maitland Park could be turned into flats after it was listed for sale at auction.

The Lord Southampton in Southampton Road is being sold through the MyAuction website with online bidding due to begin next week.

A minimum opening bid has been set at £1.5million.

The sales listing literature said: “The property is locally listed as a building of merit but does not lie within a conservation area. “It is our opinion that the property lends itself to future development potential whether that be conversion of the existing building or change of use from commercial to residential.”

The sale starts on May 16 at noon.
