A SQUAD of talented young footballers played out their own fairytale this season as they shook off fears of folding to emerge as the kings of the capital.

Led by “inspirational captain” Apollo Baron – and with star striker Jayden Graham banging in the goals – Kentish Town’s joint Under-15s/16s squad (above) won every single game on their way to being crowned champions of the London Youth Premier Gold League.

Club chairman Thomas Looney praised the players, their parents and coaches Daniel Michaels and Simon Sarong as he revealed what made the story so special.

He said: “The team’s flawless record is a testament to their exceptional skill, dedication and teamwork. Furthermore, it is truly remarkable to consider that the age group faced the possibility of folding at the beginning of the season due to a shortage of players.

“However, through dedicated recruitment efforts, the team was able to bolster their squad and ensure their continued participation. This adds another layer of resilience and determination to their incredible achievement, highlighting the team’s ability to overcome adversity and come out on top.”
