TALK Summer Scholars: Botanical Modernisms / Black Lives Matter Literature. Two free lectures, one by Jasmine McCrory investigating the relationship between botanical spaces, particularly the private garden space, and American modernism. The second is by Gavan Lennon, who will explore how, when the list of victims of racial violence gets ever longer, we prevent any one name from fading into the background. STORYTELLING Empathy Sundays. Explore empathy, emotion and social action through storytelling. In this session visitors will read books with children aged three to eight on the topic of loneliness. Participants can then help decorate biscuits, which they will be able to take home or donate to a care home or dementia café.
