TALK The Idle Beekeeper. Author and beekeeper Bill Anderson presents his guide to idle beekeeping, a grassroots, low-intervention system that seeks to emulate the behaviour and habitat of bees in the wild that only requires two active days of beekeeping per year. EXHIBITION I ♥ London. The Friends of Belsize Library welcome Catherina Luisa Maschke, the artist behind Instagram’s “London City Illustrations”. She will be displaying her charming images of London life as full-size A2 posters. There will be the opportunity to buy posters, or to commission your own. Belsize Community Library, Antrim Road, NW3. Open evening Wednesday September 4, from 7-10pm. The exhibition will then be open Monday and Tuesday 10am-6pm, and Wednesday 10am-8pm.

TALK The Twittering Machine. In Surrealist artist Paul Klee’s The Twittering Machine, the bird-song of a diabolical machine acts as bait to lure humankind into a pit of damnation. In this talk leading political writer and broadcaster Richard Seymour argues that this is a chilling metaphor for our relationship with social media.
